A beautiful print far surpasses the experience of seeing an image on screen and whether it’s for your coffee table, wall or exhibition, excellent photography belongs on paper. Printing a high-quality, fine-art image delivers the ultimate pleasure and satisfaction to a photographer. However, the dark-art of high-quality printing isn't so easy to achieve without the right knowledge and understanding.
Join professional photographer, Mark Banks for this 3-session online tuition for a complete guide to printing using Adobe Lightroom Classic. Mark will go through each step in an easy to understand way - without getting technical. So, if you are new to printing or you struggle to make a quality print then these sessions might just be the perfect solution for you.
You will learn about:
• The basics and theory of printing
• Considerations when choosing a printer
• Choice of paper
• The importance of Image formats, sizing and resolution
• Colour management
• Paper profiles (what they are, what they do and why they are necessary).
• Why your images might not have printed as you expected them to.
• How to soft-proof your images
• How to master Lightroom’s Print Module
• How to present your images (adding borders, signatures etc…)
• Creating Contact Sheets (more than one image per sheet)
• Creating print presets
Using Adobe Lightroom Classic's Develop and Print module, Mark will help demystify the print process and take you through his personal workflow. Learn how to print like a pro and learn how to print first time, every time - saving you time, ink and paper along the way.
These online tutorials are split into 3 x 2-hour sessions to help participants grasp each stage in bite-size chunks for ease of understanding. Mark will explain each step of the print process using one or more of his images to demonstrate his full workflow, finally printing out one or more of his
prints during one or more of the sessions where applicable. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions during each session.
To take part in this event you will need a computer or laptop with a built-in or plug-in webcam and a good internet connection. You will need to know how to use your webcam and be able to ensure that your room is quiet throughout the workshop sessions.

Involve me and I learn."
“Mark Banks is quite simply one of the best teachers of photography I have ever met. His secret is an apparently endless supply of patience, and an acute analytical approach to developing systematic problem-solving tactics in photography, which he makes effortless and fun to learn, whether in the field or in the editing suite. Mark’s artistry, empathy, kindness and charm mean he is always a joy to work with, or to be taught by.”
