Quote...

“Mark Banks is quite simply one of the best teachers of photography I have ever met. His secret is an apparently endless supply of patience, and an acute analytical approach to developing systematic problem-solving tactics in photography, which he makes effortless and fun to learn, whether in the field or in the editing suite. Mark’s artistry, empathy, kindness and charm mean he is always a joy to work with, or to be taught by.”

~ Joe Cornish

Testimonials

He is one of the best educators I have ever worked with, regardless of discipline…I will come back in a heartbeat, to take other workshops at the gallery that Mr Banks is conducting.”

Winter in Glencoe Landscape Photography Workshop

Winter in Glencoe,
Scottish Highlands

5th - 11th January 2020 - ***1 Place Remaining***

Due to a late cancellation, I have one place available on this workshop. An amazing place at this time of year!

It’s no surprise to those who visit Scotland that it repeatedly gets nominated as the best place in the UK for landscape photography. With mountains aplenty and picturesque lochs, islands, shorelines, rivers, waterfalls and woodland there really is no better place to learn about - and improve your landscape photography skills.

This 5-day / 6-night workshop will suit those photographers who prefer more dynamic winter pictures. Winter in Glencoe is truly stunning - usually with frozen lochans, snow-capped mountains, ancient woodland and gushing waterfalls all providing a sense of scale and beauty that is truly spectacular. This is a real opportunity for people who are passionate about the outdoors to indulge and immerse themselves in an amazing week of landscape photography heaven - with tuition provided by Mark throughout the workshop.

Itinerary.

This workshop will be based at the Holly Tree Hotel, Kentallen just a 30-minute drive from the heart of Glencoe and includes a full Scottish breakfast and an evening meal. In order to get the maximum 5 days out of this workshop you will arrive the evening prior to the start of the workshop on Sunday 5th January and depart on Saturday 11th January (overnight stays for these days are included in the price). The workshop will officially start on Monday 6th January after breakfast when Mark will start with an introductory talk before opening the floor to any questions.

For the next five days, participants will be transported by Mark to numerous locations around the area including Rannoch Moor, Glen Etive, Glen Nevis and Kinlochleven where Mark will help you explore composition and technical skills in order to make successful landscape images.  There will also be time for processing your images using Mark’s laptop (or your own) where he will explain how to get the very best out of your images using Adobe Lightroom Classic software.

As this workshop is limited to just 4 participants there will be plenty of time for one-to-one tuition and to discuss photography at whatever level you are - beginner or experienced amateur. You are also invited to bring along some images - either in print or digitally - for discussion.

The workshop will officially close on Friday evening with a de-brief of your experience over celebratory drinks. Participants will check out on Saturday morning after breakfast.
