Quote...

“Mark Banks is quite simply one of the best teachers of photography I have ever met. His secret is an apparently endless supply of patience, and an acute analytical approach to developing systematic problem-solving tactics in photography, which he makes effortless and fun to learn, whether in the field or in the editing suite. Mark’s artistry, empathy, kindness and charm mean he is always a joy to work with, or to be taught by.”

~ Joe Cornish

Testimonials

He is one of the best educators I have ever worked with, regardless of discipline…I will come back in a heartbeat, to take other workshops at the gallery that Mr Banks is conducting.”

Lake District Landscape Photography Workshop with Mark Banks and Steve Gosling

Lake District - ALL INCLUSIVE
(Steve Gosling & Mark Banks)

17th - 22nd November 2019

The Lake District is a spectacular place for landscape photography at any time of the year but late Autumn is a particularly photogenic and dynamic time to visit. During our time there we will photograph around the lakes of Derwent Water, Buttermere and Crummock Water as well as visit local quarries and woodland.

Mark and Steve will also offer an opportunity for you to take part in a Portfolio Review session where you can bring along some of your images for constructive comment and critique. On evenings (or if the weather is a little inclement), participants may also bring along their laptop computers for advice on post-production tips and techniques, too using Adobe Lightroom Classic software.

This is an all-inclusive workshop (excluding alcohol) and we will be based at the beautiful 4-star Borrowdale Hotel which is conveniently situated alongside Derwent Water and only a 10-minute drive from the quaint market town of Keswick.

Itinerary

You will arrive on the evening of Sunday 17th November and after checking in, meet up with your fellow participants for introductions before sitting down for a meal. The workshop will officially start on the morning of Monday 18th, when Mark and Steve will discuss the format of the workshop and answer any questions you may have prior to heading out for the day.

Mark and Steve will escort you to all locations using their vehicles where they will offer tuition and advice throughout the full 5 days. There will also be plenty of time to discuss composition and post-processing techniques.

The workshop will conclude at 5pm on Friday 22nd November.

Please Note: All workshops must be financially viable for Mark and Steve. Therefore, we reserve the right to cancel a workshop no later than 4 weeks of the due date if adequate spaces are not filled. If the workshop only half-fills one of the tutors will stand down - allowing the workshop to still go ahead (where at least 3 participants have booked on). In this case, Steve will stand down and Mark will run the workshop on his own.

You will lose your workshop fee and/or deposit (whichever is applicable) if you cancel your booking at any time unless we can fill your space. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance which covers such an event.
