Burano, Venice

At dawn and dusk Burano becomes almost theatrical: soft, angled light brushes the façades, pastel colours glow rather than shout, and still water mirrors buildings and sky with remarkable clarity. The scene naturally contains deep shadows, luminous highlights, and subtle mid-tones all at once — perfect conditions for true HDR capture.
At night, Burano takes on a different character. Warm street lamps spill pools of light across bridges and cobbles while the surrounding alleys fall into darkness, creating an even wider dynamic range. In true HDR, these moments retain detail in both the glowing lamps and the shadowed architecture, preserving the atmosphere exactly as it feels to stand there — calm, colourful, and quietly magical, long after the daytime crowds have gone.
