"Tell me and I forget.
Teach me and I remember.
Involve me and I learn."

~ Benjamin Franklin

Quote...

“Mark Banks is quite simply one of the best teachers of photography I have ever met. His secret is an apparently endless supply of patience, and an acute analytical approach to developing systematic problem-solving tactics in photography, which he makes effortless and fun to learn, whether in the field or in the editing suite. Mark’s artistry, empathy, kindness and charm mean he is always a joy to work with, or to be taught by.”

~ Joe Cornish

Testimonials

Itinerary

We will be based at the Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel in the lovely village of Embleton where you will arrive on the evening of Sunday 14th June. Although accommodation isn't provided as part of the workshop (we like to give people the flexibility to make their own arrangements according to their taste and budget) we do encourage participants to stay in the vicinity of our base. Officially, the workshop will start at 10 am on Monday 15th June, therefore we encourage participants to arrive the evening before for introductory drinks and to meet the other participants.
After an introductory talk at the start of the workshop, Mark and Steve will transport participants to various locations on the Northumberland coast. They will also offer an opportunity for you to take part in a Portfolio Review session where you can bring some of your images for constructive comment and critique.

Steve and Mark will work with all participants throughout the week giving hands-on tuition, advice and tips at all locations.

The workshop will finish on the evening of Friday 19th June over celebratory drinks before departing on Saturday 20th June in the morning after breakfast.
