300km north of the Arctic Circle lies Senja - the second largest Island in Norway. It covers over 15,000 km and is surrounded by the Norwegian Sea. The western side is a very mountainous and hostile location - particularly in winter whereas the east and south are relatively flat and lush. Senja can be accessed by one bridge via Finnsnes or from a small number of ferry crossings dotted around the Island.
The port town of Tromsø lies on the eastern edge of Tromsøya - a small island connected to the mainland by two beautiful bridges.
I was lucky enough to vist both locations after running a photography workshop in the loften Islands in February 2023.
