Lensbaby Creative

I love using Lensbaby lenses and have collected most of their range and Omni filters. Each lens has its own unique character and is intended for a more creative approach to photography. These lenses let me freely express my creativity without feeling bound by conventional rules.

I mainly use them in the summer months to visit local meadows early in the morning when the light is soft and the weather is still and calm. It really is a tonic for the soul.

Norfolk

Norfolk

Located in the east of the UK, Norfolk is famous for its Broads - a series of manmade waterways stretching over 125 miles, which have been used for boating holidays since the late 19th century. For landscape photographers like me, these waterways offer an exciting variety of locations in which to explore and photograph. Adding interest are occassional windmills and moored sailing boats adding valuable height to an otherwise flat(ish) landscape.

Norfolk's coast is equally photogenic with plenty of architecture such as piers, groynes and lighthouses to create foreground and mid-ground interest. Due to the flat terrain, skies play an important role in adding drama to a scene and skies here can be stunning!

Senja & Tromsø

Senja & Tromsø

300km north of the Arctic Circle lies Senja - the second largest Island in Norway. It covers over 15,000 km and is surrounded by the Norwegian Sea. The western side is a very mountainous and hostile location - particularly in winter whereas the east and south are relatively flat and lush. Senja can be accessed by one bridge via Finnsnes or from a small number of ferry crossings dotted around the Island.

The port town of Tromsø lies on the eastern edge of Tromsøya - a small island connected to the mainland by two beautiful bridges.

I was lucky enough to vist both locations after running a photography workshop in the loften Islands in February 2023.

Valencia

Valencia

A city of contrasts, Valencia is home to both ancient and cutting edge modern architecture. The jewel in its crown is Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences). Designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, the park is full of beautiful modern architecture which was completed in 2009 at a staggering cost of over €1 billion!
The old town is equally impressive with its ancient gothic architecture and famous street art.

Woods for the Trees

Woods for the trees

I was kindly shown this woodland by a friend in the summer of 2020. For most of the day, the sky was flat and overcast, which worked in my favour to create a cohesive set of black and white images which focusses entirely on form and texture.
